OUR STORY
In 1968 Les Jones and family purchased a 31 acre
parcel of land in Symon's valley area, moved a house
out and started Construction on a barn. Les was a member
of the Calgary fire department at the time and many of his
fireman friends helped out. When the barn was complete and the
horses moved in, they decided to have a party in the loft. Word
spread and soon there were many parties being held in the loft.
Within a short time, Les quit his job on the fire department
and went into catering full time. In 1972 he added on to the loft
and then there were three halls. In 1987, he built the restaurant
which is now the Ranch House Dining lounge. In 1988 he added
the RV Park where there are stalls for 143 RV's with service.
In 1989, disaster struck the ranch and the three halls burnt to
the ground. Les rebuilt, this time in logs. The beautiful building
is very rustic and has provided a lot of fun for a lot of people. It is
capable of seating and feeding 1000 people in three different halls.
In 1993, construction on an outdoor
rodeo arena was completed in a natural bowl on the property
and convention rodeos are now offered for corporate functions.
Les's son, Darrell and daughter, Debi were a great help in
building the business and have since moved on to bigger things.
The business is now being run by Les Jones and his wife, Ellen.
